00:00:09.733 --> 00:00:11.736
I am Devin Pintosi, your host.
00:00:11.736 --> 00:00:16.998
We are here at the Alabama Federal Programs Conference with Faith Gaucher.
00:00:16.998 --> 00:00:22.530
Hello, she is an education specialist with the Alabama State Department of Education.
00:00:22.530 --> 00:00:23.713
Welcome, faith.
00:00:23.859 --> 00:00:24.722
Thank you.
00:00:24.722 --> 00:00:26.327
Thank you, how are you today?
00:00:26.388 --> 00:00:27.600
Wonderful Faith.
00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:33.988
Tell us a little bit about what you do and your role with the State Department, and what kind of things brought you here to this conference.
00:00:34.270 --> 00:00:55.853
Okay, I am an education specialist, as Devin said, with the Federal Programs Department for the State Department of Education, and so what we do, my main role is I will work with a region in the state of Alabama and we work on processing and approving their consolidated application for their federal funding.
00:00:56.802 --> 00:00:58.493
That sounds very important.
00:00:58.493 --> 00:00:59.380
It is.
00:00:59.380 --> 00:01:02.490
It is kind of important Absolutely.
00:01:02.490 --> 00:01:04.609
Without the funding the dreams can't happen, Absolutely.
00:01:04.629 --> 00:01:05.173
Absolutely Faith.
00:01:05.173 --> 00:01:05.433
Can you tell?
00:01:05.433 --> 00:01:06.057
Dreams can't happen, Absolutely.
00:01:06.076 --> 00:01:08.001
Absolutely Faith.
00:01:08.001 --> 00:01:09.728
Can you tell us a bit about your journey?
00:01:09.728 --> 00:01:16.530
What got you into this role and what did you do previous that inspired you forward?
00:01:17.152 --> 00:01:20.188
Okay, I started out as an elementary school teacher.
00:01:20.188 --> 00:01:27.248
I moved here I guess I can't quite figure out how many years it's been, it's been somewhere between 18 and 20 years.
00:01:27.248 --> 00:01:31.450
I started out as a teacher, classroom teacher.
00:01:31.450 --> 00:01:50.712
I was also a technology coordinator, ib coordinator, then assistant principal and then, most recently, before coming to the department, I served as a principal for 10 years, and then it was just time for a change, and so this position became available and the opportunity presented itself.
00:01:50.712 --> 00:01:51.984
So here I am.
00:01:52.659 --> 00:01:56.751
At American Book Company in Woodstock, Georgia, we are committed to your students' success.
00:01:56.751 --> 00:02:02.022

00:02:02.022 --> 00:02:04.364

Hope to hear from you soon.
00:02:23.217 --> 00:02:26.480
Bye-bye, that's great.
00:02:26.480 --> 00:02:26.822
That's great.
00:02:26.822 --> 00:02:30.251
I understand you are also a member here at the conference on the conference committee.
00:02:30.251 --> 00:02:30.741
Is that right?
00:02:30.881 --> 00:02:32.186
Yes, part of.
00:02:32.186 --> 00:02:56.370
We plan several different conferences and one of them that we plan every year is the spring conference, and so, being a newbie on the staff, we got to work on the planning committee and so we've just been working for the last several months on, just, you know, making sure that everybody got registered, making sure everything all the vendors got here, and just making sure that everything was put together and goes off without a hitch.
00:02:56.730 --> 00:02:57.652
Well, we appreciate it.
00:02:57.652 --> 00:03:02.550
This conference has been incredible, thanks to the work of her faith and her committee.
00:03:02.550 --> 00:03:03.712
That's wonderful.
00:03:03.712 --> 00:03:09.770
Do you have some ideas about what's going to be perhaps the theming or some new things that are going to happen for next year?
00:03:10.861 --> 00:03:15.681
I know one of the big things that everybody is wondering, like what's happening with federal dollars?
00:03:15.842 --> 00:03:33.492
And I think we find out, you know, the same time everybody else finds out, and so, just you know, the advice that we have been given and that we share with LEAs is just continue to do what you're doing and as things happen, as things change, we will let you all know.
00:03:33.492 --> 00:03:40.413
But, you know, just continuing to use those federal dollars to make sure that students are learning and they're being successful.
00:03:40.413 --> 00:03:43.969
That's, you know, that's what we have done and that's what we will continue to do.
00:03:44.639 --> 00:03:46.687
Oh, that is just wonderful.
00:03:46.687 --> 00:03:51.362
Thank you so much, faith Cochet, with the Alabama State Department of Education.
00:03:51.362 --> 00:03:52.908
Thank you so much for being with us today.
00:03:53.020 --> 00:03:57.192
Thank you, and thank you all for being a vendor and for helping us make this conference happen.
00:00:06.828 --> 00:00:09.733
00:00:09.733 --> 00:00:11.736
00:00:11.736 --> 00:00:16.998
00:00:16.998 --> 00:00:22.530
00:00:22.530 --> 00:00:23.713
00:00:23.859 --> 00:00:24.722
00:00:24.722 --> 00:00:26.327
00:00:26.388 --> 00:00:27.600
00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:33.988
00:00:34.270 --> 00:00:55.853
00:00:56.802 --> 00:00:58.493
00:00:58.493 --> 00:00:59.380
00:00:59.380 --> 00:01:02.490
00:01:02.490 --> 00:01:04.609
00:01:04.629 --> 00:01:05.173
00:01:05.173 --> 00:01:05.433
00:01:05.433 --> 00:01:06.057
00:01:06.076 --> 00:01:08.001
00:01:08.001 --> 00:01:09.728
00:01:09.728 --> 00:01:16.530
00:01:17.152 --> 00:01:20.188
00:01:20.188 --> 00:01:27.248
00:01:27.248 --> 00:01:31.450
00:01:31.450 --> 00:01:50.712
00:01:50.712 --> 00:01:51.984
00:01:52.659 --> 00:01:56.751
00:01:56.751 --> 00:02:02.022
00:02:02.022 --> 00:02:04.364
00:02:04.364 --> 00:02:10.389
00:02:10.389 --> 00:02:21.496
00:02:21.496 --> 00:02:23.217
00:02:23.217 --> 00:02:26.480
00:02:26.480 --> 00:02:26.822
00:02:26.822 --> 00:02:30.251
00:02:30.251 --> 00:02:30.741
00:02:30.881 --> 00:02:32.186
00:02:32.186 --> 00:02:56.370
00:02:56.730 --> 00:02:57.652
00:02:57.652 --> 00:03:02.550
00:03:02.550 --> 00:03:03.712
00:03:03.712 --> 00:03:09.770
00:03:10.861 --> 00:03:15.681
00:03:15.842 --> 00:03:33.492
00:03:33.492 --> 00:03:40.413
00:03:40.413 --> 00:03:43.969
